Detailed Itinerary

  • Start your journey from Haridwar to Rishikesh, which is approximately a 1-hour drive.
  • Spend the day in Rishikesh exploring the town and experiencing the spiritual atmosphere. You can also visit the famous Ganga Ghats and attend the Ganga Aarti in the evening.
  • Overnight stay in Rishikesh.
  • After breakfast, depart for Joshimath, which is about a 9-10 hour drive from Rishikesh.
  • Enroute, you'll pass through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag, where you can witness the confluence of various rivers.
  • Arrive in Joshimath and check into your hotel or guesthouse.
  • Overnight stay in Joshimath.
  • Early in the morning, drive from Joshimath to Govindghat, which is around 22 km. This is the starting point of your trek.
  • From Govindghat, start the 13 km trek to Ghangaria, a small village that serves as the base camp for the Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers treks.
  • The trek can take approximately 6-7 hours, and you'll pass through lush forests and alongside the gushing Laxman Ganga River.
  • Upon reaching Ghangaria, check into a guesthouse or campsite.
  • Overnight stay in Ghangaria.
  • Start your trek to Hemkund Sahib early in the morning.
  • The 6 km trek is quite steep and can take around 4-5 hours to reach the gurudwara.
  • Once at Hemkund Sahib, take some time to pay your respects and enjoy the serene surroundings.
  • Start your descent back to Ghangaria in the afternoon.
  • Overnight stay in Ghangaria.
  • Trek back to Govindghat from Ghangaria in the morning.
  • From Govindghat, drive back to Joshimath.
  • Overnight stay in Joshimath.
  • Drive back to Rishikesh from Joshimath.
  • Check into your hotel and relax after the long journey.
  • Overnight stay in Rishikesh.
  • In the morning, drive back to Haridwar from Rishikesh.
  • If you have time, you can explore Haridwar or attend the evening Ganga Aarti before concluding your journey.
