Detailed Itinerary
- After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic drive from Haridwar/Rishikesh to Chopta.
- The drive takes approximately 7-8 hours and covers a distance of around 200 kilometers.
- Chopta is a small, picturesque village and serves as the base for the trek.
- Check-in to your accommodation in Chopta, which includes options like guesthouses, camps, and homestays.
- Spend the evening exploring the serene surroundings.
- Start your trek early in the morning after breakfast.
- The trek to Tungnath is approximately 4-5 kilometers and takes around 3-4 hours to complete.
- Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks.
- After reaching Tungnath, visit the temple and soak in the stunning vistas.
- Continue trekking to Chandrashila, which is another 1.5 kilometers from Tungnath.
- Chandrashila is a vantage point that provides panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, including Nanda Devi and Trishul.
- Spend some time at Chandrashila, take photographs, and then descend back to Chopta.
- After breakfast, check out from your accommodation in Chopta.
- Begin the drive back to Haridwar or Rishikesh.
- Depending on the traffic and road conditions, the journey may take 7-8 hours.
- Reach Haridwar/Rishikesh by evening, and you can either spend the night there or proceed to your next destination.
